Winery Book
In the summer of 1993 Ronnie James began producing wine at the new winery he established in Kibbutz Tzora. We chose to mark the 30th anniversary of our winery, by publishing a book that tells the story through the time and place in which we are situated.
The book, “Time and Place”, moves on a chronological axis: from the Thetis Ocean and the fossil remnants it left behind, through the formation of the unique soil of the Judean Hills, the technique of terrace building in Middle Eastern agriculture, to the establishment of the winery and our current activities.
We chose to tell the story by juxtaposing art and wine culture showcasing unique visual imagery such as archaeological objects from the Israel Museum Collection, photographs of contemporary dance works, a poem written by Eran Tzur especially for the book, and artwork by contemporary artists such as Aram Gershuni, Miriam Cabessa, Farid Abu Shakra and Liat Elbling. The photographs document the seasonal cycle in the vineyards and the work at the winery, highlighting how art often draws inspiration from nature.
The book is in English and costs 280 NIS. It is available to purchase at the winery. Please contact us for delivery abroad.
